Property Tax Revenue

Property tax notices are mailed on November 1st of each year and due by January 15th of the following year. If not paid by January 15th, a 5% penalty is placed on your bill. A 10% penalty will be added if not paid by February 16th, and a 15% penalty will be added if your bill is not paid on or before March 2.

City of Abbeville property taxes are paid at City Hall in the Opera House. They may be paid with cash, check or a credit card. Call 864-366-5017 for more information regarding your City taxes.

Business Licenses

Any business physically located within the City of Abbeville, along with any business coming into the City is required to have a business license.  Business licenses are purchased annually and are valid from January 1 to December 31.  Businesses may apply for an application at Abbeville City Hall.

Hospitality Tax Revenue

Local Hospitality Tax Revenue is a 2% sales tax assessed on all prepared food and beverages in the City Limits of Abbeville. Revenue from the Local Hospitality Tax is designated into the hospitality tax fund which is restricted by state law for tourism-related activities and improvements. All businesses that prepare food, serve meals, prepare beverages of any kind, including alcohol, are required to assess this tax and submit it to Abbeville City Hall by the 20th of each month.
