HYDRANT FLUSHING & TESTING JUNE 15 - JULY 31, 2020

Abbeville Public Utilities will be conducting a system wide hydrant flushing and testing beginning June 15th. We will flush and test one area at a time beginning at 8:00am and ending at 5:00pm Monday thru Friday and continue thru the month of July until all areas have been flushed and tested. Even though the water is safe to use, please check your  cold water before washing clothes or preparing food.

If the water is discolored, simply run your cold water for three to five minutes. If it does not clear up please wait about 30 minutes and try again. Avoid using hot water until the cold water runs clear.

While it may seem like this is a waste of water, annual flushing and testing is an essential maintenance process. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
